Postdoctoral Fellow. Postdoctoral positions are available to investigate mechanisms of protein recruitment in HIV pathogenesis and DNA repair. See Research Interests for more details. Expertise in protein cloning, purification and biochemical/biophysical characterization is highly desirable. Experience in structural biology (NMR or X-ray) is a big plus.
The NMR instrumentation presently available to the lab includes four-channel Bruker Avance 500, 600, and 700 MHz NMR spectrometers. In addition, the Biochemistry Department houses 5 of the 11 University-supported Core Facilities. The Ivanov Lab shares the 5th floor of the Allied Health Building with four other groups working in the field of protein structure/function (Hinck, Souza, Fitzpatrick, Kim).
Research Associate. We are also looking for a research associate to provide core support for our research projects and to assist with lab management. Experience in molecular biology and protein purification is required.
Rotation Projects. Rotation projects for first-year graduate students explore various aspects of NMR studies of proteins including isotope labeling, spectral assignment, mapping of protein-protein and protein-small molecule interactions and others.
